Security Guard Found Dead Amid Kedecia McLeod Investigation

Security Guard Found Dead as Probe Into Missing Pharmacy Technician Deepens

A security guard reportedly linked to the Kedecia McLeod investigation was found dead in St. Ann as police continue probing the case.

The investigation into the death of Manchester pharmacy technician Kedecia McLeod has taken another dramatic turn after a man reportedly linked to the case was found dead in St. Ann on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Maurice Fennell, a security guard from Cambridge, St. James. His death comes just hours after investigators intensified efforts to determine what happened to McLeod, whose body was discovered in St. Elizabeth following days of being reported missing.

According to reports, Fennell travelled to Brown's Town, St. Ann, to visit a friend. Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell, commander of the St. Ann Police Division, said authorities were alerted after the friend reportedly heard a gunshot and made a distressing discovery.

Police officers who were already in the area responded quickly and found Fennell suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.

SSP Russell disclosed that preliminary information suggested Fennell appeared emotionally distressed during the visit prior to the incident. Investigators are now working to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death.

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Fennell's connection to McLeod's disappearance and death has continued to spread across social media.

McLeod, a 40-year-old pharmacy technician from Manchester, was last seen on Tuesday along Caledonia Road in Mandeville. Police reports indicated that she was observed entering a red Honda Fit before she disappeared.

Following an extensive search, a body believed to be McLeod was discovered on Thursday in the Pepper District of St. Elizabeth. Authorities are awaiting additional forensic examinations as part of the ongoing investigation.

Unconfirmed reports circulating online have suggested that Fennell may have been connected to McLeod's death before taking his own life. However, police have not confirmed those claims, and investigators have not publicly disclosed the nature of any relationship between the two individuals.

Authorities are urging the public to avoid speculation while detectives continue gathering evidence.

The case remains under active investigation, and officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
